Safe
The MICATU Instrument Transformers present no violent failure or electrocution risks, because the optical technology works outside the line current and is electrically isolated.
Accurate
MICATU Instrument Transformers maintain IEEE C57.13 Class 0.3 accuracy across the entire measurement range, regardless of applied voltage or current, and in all typical environmental conditions: from -30° C (-22° F) to 70°C (158° F).
Advanced
The injection-molded HCEP housing is lightweight, durable, and keeps the entire instrument transformer free of conductive materials. The all-optical design keeps the sensor isolated from the current, ensuring high reliability and long life.
Easy Install
A typical three-phase system can be completed in about 3 hours. Each MICATU Instrument Transformer is attached using NEMA standard connections for simplicity. Fiber optic cables connect the sensors to the certusEDGE Edge Processing Unit (EPU) or the m410B Advanced Signal Processor.

With no magnetic core, no oil, and no SF6 gas, these fully optical, solid-state devices deliver the industry’s most accurate current and voltage measurements - without saturation, drift, or degradation.
Available in both line-hanging and station post configurations, MICATU’s OITs are lightweight (up to 90% less than traditional units) and compact. They install in hours - not days - and require no specialized environmental handling. This simplifies deployment logistics, accelerates commissioning schedules, and reduces safety risk to field crews.
